Selling On Amazon & Amazon Marketplace...

Selling on Amazon's Marketplace can add thousands to your business's turnover and it's highly recommended. There are no real draw backs to selling on Amazon apart from their fees, but let's be honest, you would pay fees for advertising on anyone's website wouldn't you?

You must have a Pro Merchant Seller Account Subscription, you can obtain this by clicking here. Once you have been accepted into the Amazon market place we can help you get going with Amazon.

Next you will need to log-in to Amazon's Seller/Merchant control panel called Seller Central.

Once you have familiarised yourself with Amazon's Seller Central, you will imediately notice that it has some great features including uploading your products via a text file upload. - This is the easiest way to upload products to Amazon Seller Central, however, it needs to be done every day to keep stock correct, so therefore it's hardly the most efficient option. To sell on Amazon Market Place you will need the following:

  • A Credit Card - They do charge for this service (but it's not much).
  • A Bank Account - They pay you into your bank account.

Guidelines for selling on Amazon:

Amazon are reasonably strict with their guidelines about how a merchat should perform, here are some general guidelines. If you stick to these you should be fine.

  • Emails: Always answer emails within 24 hours, even if you cannot answer the customer's question there and then, send them an email telling them you will look into it and get back to them, if you say you will get back to them in a specified time, MAKE SURE YOU DO. If you do not, you are likely to recieve bad feedback which WILL affect your sales on Amaon Marketplace as well as your seller status with Amazon.
  • Products: Update your products' stock every day or ever time it changes, cancelling orders will affect you seller status within Amazon Marketplace's records and your account could be suspended. ***
  • Delivery: If you offer expedited (fast) delivery MAKE SURE YOU DELIVER ON TIME. People pay you extra for a faster delivery so therefore you should ensure that they are receiving the service they have paid for. If you do not you are likely to receive negative feedback which, in turn, will affect your marketplace sales and seller status (and your account could be suspended).***

*** Be warned, however, if you do not stick to these it will adversely affect your seller status and your seller account could be suspended. Once a seller account has been suspended you are not likely to be given a second chance.
